KITZSTEINHORN
Summer fun in the snow awaits when you take a walk on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. The Gipfelwelt 3000 simply cannot fail to amaze – what about some unique views of the surrounding Hohe Tauern mountains? Walk through the inside of the mountain and experience unrivalled views from the ‘Top of Salzburg’ viewing platform.
Summer, sunshine, snow – follow one of the trails over the glacier and catch a bit of winter at the ICE Arena Kitzsteinhorn – slides and a snow beach ensure summer fun in the snow! A fantastic adventure awaits you and your friends with the Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour. So what are you waiting for?
Walking
Pure walking pleasure – the nature around Zell am See is just waiting to be explored. Whether a leisurely stroll, herb walk, challenging hike or guided walking and mountain tour – numerous walking trails lead through the impressive landscapes of Pinzgau. Piesendorf-Niedernsill has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal and is now a certified ‘Austrian Hiking Village’.
You can choose from 3 different levels according to your fitness level and experience – up to 1,300m, 2,300m or 3,000m. Set off on a voyage of discovery, walk to the lodges and chalets and experience a unique sunrise. The dreamy mountain backdrop of the Kitzbühel Alps and Hohen Tauern is sure to impress.
Run & Walk
Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts can really burn off some energy with trail running. Some beautiful running trails and mountain running tracks are available for endurance training and some exciting discovery tours - whether on one of the 18 trails in Piesendorf-Niedernsill or one of the speed trails, marathon trails or endurance trails in Saalbach Hinterglemm.
And for those who prefer a more leisurely pace, Nordic Walking is recommended.
Cycling & biking
Sporty holidaymakers will find plenty to amuse them with cycling, mountain biking and e-biking. The varied cycle paths, e-biking trails and mountain biking routes offer plenty of highlights for amateur cyclists, beginners and advanced bikers alike. As one of the largest centres of cycling sports, Pinzgau offers over 1,000 km of cycling and mountain biking trails.
The three freeriding trails on the Kitzsteinhorn – the Geißstein Trail, Wüstlau Trail and Bachler Trail – offer something for everyone, from leisurely to highly challenging. The biking paradise of Saalbach Hinterglemm also has a wide range of cycling and e-biking trails on offer in addition to mountain biking tours. So there is nothing to stop you enjoying a sporty holiday here.
GOLF
Fancy a round of gold? The holiday region of Zell am See has two magnificent 18-hole courses to choose from. The two courses of ‘Kitzsteinhorn’ and ‘Schmittenhöhe’ together form the largest golfing facility in the Austrian Alps.
